Fall Nail trend: Duochromes from OPI, China Glaze & Maybelline

PURCHASED
O.P.I Just Spotted The Lizard, Maybelline 715 Boho Gold, China Glaze Unpredictable, Maybelline 700 Avante Green, China Glaze Swanky Silk, Maybelline 720 Pink Cosmo, & Maybelline 725 Downtown Brown.
You say "Duochrome" I say WHERE"!

Seriously I'm addicted to Duochrome in any form whether it's two tone taffeta, silk, or polyesters or shifting eyeshadow I'll be checking them out.

O.P.I Just Spotted The Lizard from The Amazing New Spider-Man Collection was the first one to come out and I snagged it as soon I was in Toronto over the Summer. (Yes I have to go to Toronto to get OPI LE collection in person. lol) Retail for $9.99CAN to 15.99 CAN depending on the store.

China Glaze New Bohemian collection came out for the fall  ($7.99US to $9.99 CAN) and fallowed by Maybelline Color Show Limited Edtion Fall 2012 Nail Lacquer Collection which just lunched in Canada last week (2.99US $4.50CAN).

O.P.I Just Spotted The Lizard & Maybelline Color Show in 715 Boho Gold are kissing cousin shade. The Blue/green shift is not as apparent on the 715 Boho Gold compared to it being more prominent on the Just Spotted The Lizard shade. For that reason 715 Boho Gold looks more gold in tone. Both applied with two coats.

Also China Glaze Rare & Radiant It another polish with the same pigmentation.

Maybelline Color Show in 700 Avante Green & China Glaze Unpredictable are again kissing cousin shades. The Blue shift is not as apparent on the 700 Avante Green compared to Unpredictable. also Unpredictable is a paler shade compare to 700 Avante Green which is s more of a vivid green.

Both applied with two coats.

Daylight: China Glaze Swanky Silk in on the thumb, middle and pinky fingers & Maybelline Color Show in 720 Pink Cosmo is on the index and ring finger.

China Glaze Swanky Silk & Maybelline Color Show in 720 Pink Cosmo are identical in the base pigment shade. The colour shift is very subtle on both shades and only really noticeable in different lighting.
720 Pink Cosmo is super sheer and it took three coats to get it coats to the two coats of Swanky Silk in pigmentation. The saving grace is that the formula for the 720 Pink Cosmo is also thinner so that three coats don't end up begin too thick on the nail.

You of the 4 Maybelline Color Shows shade 725 Downtown Brown is the most opaque and solid looking in one coat. I added a second layer in the swatch to show the richness of this shade.

I happen to have two loose eyeshadows and a pressed eyeshadow in a smiler shade of brown teal  that leans either more green or blue. Love this tone!

VERDICT:
All I have to say is pick what is available to you. I personal feel that most are close enough you don't need more then one of these but I feel like O.P.I and China has a much nicer base to work with.
