Product:
These shadows for the most part are good though with exceptions of 3 pops of colour in terms of pigmentation.

The matte shade are not buttery or dry either which makes the workable in the not patch or fade to nothing department.

The satin/pearl shades are smooth in texture and apply nicely over all.

The shimmer  shades do pack a punch in terms of pigmentation and the texture is buttery which allows you to sheer out nicely if you want a wash of  the shade as well.

Pink Sugar is the only mica glitter shade. This pigment does not play nicely with the standard eyeshadow base. You usually see them in the gelee formula as they work best as a wet/dry shade. That said this shade needs to be applied wet to get the most out of it. And a Glitter Glue makes a huge difference in saturation of the shade as well. I found myself digging into the pan to get at the product myself as the brushes wasn't picking up any enough product to deposit it.

Wear: Most I get about 6 hours of wear without a base.

Packaging: Simple tin compact with a mirror and a magnet for closure.

The original The Chocolate Bar palette has a deeper base than the Semi Sweet one. But they changes that with the newer palettes.

The Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar however has a flaw in that the magnet they used is too weak and if I pick up the palette by either the edge lid or base the other side falls open with little energy or movement. Which is a problem because I go scrabbling to catch it every time thinking I've dropped it. lol

In this section I'm comparing the original Chocolate Bar shades to a coresponding shade in the Semi-Sweet shades in the palettes. The shades are not dupes, however I wanted to point out there are a lot of similar tones or cousin shades between the palettes.

Daylight swatches: White Chocolate, Coconut Crème, Milk Chocolate, Mousse, Triple Fudge, & Hot Fudge.
Flash swatches: White Chocolate, Coconut Crème, Milk Chocolate, Mousse, Triple Fudge, & Hot Fudge.
White Chocolate is a dark more nude compared to Coconut Crème.
Milk Chocolate is warmer and less rosy compare to Mousse.
Triple Fudge is warmer and matte compared to Hot Fudge with it's satin finish.

Daylight swatches: Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Marzapan, Bon Bon, Semi-Sweet, & Truffled.
Flash swatches: Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Marzapan, Bon Bon, Semi-Sweet, & Truffled.
Salted Caramel is pinky compared to Peanut Butter but they both are a light tan family brown.
Marzapan is pinker compared to Bon Bon more peach tone.
Semi-Sweet (the shade) is just lighter compared to Truffled but they share the same base tone.

Daylight swatches: Hazelnut, Cocoa Chili, Crème Brulee, Caramel, Haute Chocolate, Rum Raisin, Champagne Truffle, & Butter Pecan.
Flash swatches: Hazelnut, Cocoa Chili, Crème Brulee, Caramel, Haute Chocolate, Rum Raisin, Champagne Truffle, & Butter Pecan.
Hazelnut is more shimmery and slightly redder compare to Cocoa Chili.
Crème Brulee more traditional antique gold compared to Caramel with it's bright orange/yellow tone.
Haute Chocolate is a deep version to Rum Raisin which shares the same undertone.
Champagne Truffle is a lighter more pink version of Butter Pecan.

Verdict:
These palette I would recommend to anyone really and it's nice that Too Faced has final planted their roots in the makeup industry in term of having a permanent eyeshadow palettes rather than the seasonal/yearly selections they where turning out.

As to which on is best for you that's really a personal choice. I Love the Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar because I love those warmer golden tones in general. But I know people that hate the Semi Sweet one and prefer the original Chocolate Bar palette. However I find that the original Chocolate Bar palette doesn't work for me with so many mid-tone shades plus I look like a I have a black eye with desaturated purple tones and matte burgundies and look like red eye. lol

For cosplyer this is a palette series I can recommend, again which once works for you is a matter of preferences. My money is on most would like the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar, because of the universal bridal tones in it.
