Dare to Compare: Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner in 420 Barely Beige V.S. MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20

Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner in 420 Barely Beige and MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20
I'm not a huge Kohl Liner formula fan only because I like waterproof gel based formula more for longevity. But it's hard to get good nude shade for the waterline or lip liner and i was excite to see another shade in the drugstore.

The Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner retails for $5.99 US and $8.99 CAN for 1g / 0.035 US oz of product. and the MAC Chromagraphic Pencil retails for $16US and $19CAN for 1.36 g / 0.04 US oz of product.

Products:
Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner in Barely Beige slide well on the waterline but it was slightly sheer in one pass so I found I needed to go over the waterline 3 times to build up the colour.

MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 is very buttery white gliding and opaque.

As a lip liner it like any other creme product for both and the colour to mask out the lip colour nicly. Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner does tug slightly but not really dry to really pull on the skin. The  Chromagraphic Pencil does slide on nicely.

Colour:
Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner in Barely Beige is lighter then the MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20. but bot have the same warm tone.

Wear:
Both wore well up to the 8th hour on the waterline but Maybelline Color Show Crayon Kohl Liner was gone in 12 while the MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 was faded but still there.

The  Chromagraphic Pencil feels less dry one the lip but both wear for 4-6 hours.

Packaging: Simple "wood" pencil that need to be sharpened.

420 Barely Beige on my right eye waterline and NC15/NW20 on my left eye waterline.

WINNER:
MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20. I just wear long and applies nicer then the Colour Show one but the Colour Show Crayon Kohl Liner is not a bad product at all. ;)

  1. Nice review! I also like to use flesh color in my waterline. I use either Make up for ever 100 pencil (one peach side, one pink tone beige on the other side or Yves rocher kohl (they have a light pink beige color.)

Those pencil can also double up as a reverse lip liner if it's a right match for your skin tone
