Just an update! Countdown to Anime North.

There are two conventions during the year that I spend my vacation time on. One is FanExpo Toronto and the other is Anime North. For this reason I'll probably MIA on my blog for the month of May and respectively August. ^_^

I've been going to Anime North since 2001 the first years as a reason to get my comic on the cheap. I did however get pulled into the wonderfully expensive, nerve racking, time consuming hobby of cosplaying and making costumes. This con started it all and is by far my favourite as it's all fan run and genuinely has the feel of one with events and panels requested by the participants. No they don't make money off of it and is run solely on people that spend more time then I do cosplay making, the hours needed to run this convention in months in the making.

If you happen to be in the Toronto area during the May 25th weekend check it out! Heck just just drive by to see what you're missing I'm be one of the many colourful costumers you can honk at in the crowds in e sea of almost 50% of the participants are in costume.

MAC in Extra Dimension Mini Haul

PURCHASED

MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish(Hilighter) in Whisper of Guilty, Superb and Extra Dimension Eyeshadow in Sweet Heat.
Estee Lauder came out with the formulation first but MAC over 6 months later puts out a similar and much more cheaper version. It's no surprising considering that mac is owned but Estee Lauder (along with Bobbie Brown). Skinfinishes are $34 CAN and the eyeshadows are $24CAN. You also get more product per pan.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Five Color Gelée Powder EyeShadow Palette in Bronze Sands

Pure Color Gelée Eye Palette 01 Bronze Sands Cyber Metallic
Can a product name get any longer....... The also put on Cyber Metallic on the box as well after Bronze Sands. lol

The only time I seem interested in Estee Lauder is during their Bronze Goddess summer collection. This  palette retails for $48.50 CAN but with tax and shipping came to $63.29 CAN. :P Bronze Goddess collection is only sold as select displays in Canada (or at least not in my sears location). This however gave me the opportunity to try out this new formula for eyeshadows. I shipped from their Mississauga warehouse within 24 hours. Mine came in with a few broken ridges on the sand dunes along the edges.

PAPERSELF loves The Hunger Games! MAKEUP.... and lingering side effects.

Effie Trinket during tributes interview

This post I'm breaking down most what was used on Effie Trinket for lashes and Katniss.

I finished the book just before going to see the hunger games last night. Glad I did as I might not have enjoyed it or fallowed. I was highly distracted by the building nausea I have not experienced since I was a kid with the never stopping jerkiness of the camera.

I appreciate what they were trying to do with the disorienting camera but this is not the The Blair Witch Project and there was no need to have it moving ALL THE TIME. Scenes that would have befitted from the shaky camera for effect was the Repeating, Katniss tributes interview, and the bloody start gate. Honestly our brains don't see subtle movement the way a camera records it, and have it constantly shaking belittles what Katniss is feeling during certain scenes rather then highlights it. By the end of the movie I felt so much utter relef I get the heck out of there!!!

I'm praying the other movies won't be completely shot in the same fashion otherswise I might need to DRUG myself ontop of the price of admission.

End of Nausea Games rant and onto the makeup!
