The Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick matte shade are opaque and may have shimmer in the colour due to the nature of the pigment, but the overall look of the shade is a true matte or a soft matte finish with the fine shimmer. The formula overall seemed thinner compared to the original full-size ones I reviewed but still very pigmented.
The METAL shade 60 Audacious Emerald also has the thinner feeling formula on the lips, but this shade is on the sheer side so I had to layer it to full opacity.
Sephora #LIPSTORIES Lipstick formula is densely pigmented with a smooth texture on the lips. The matte is still creamy in texture as the cream which only had a glossier look to the cream formula. Overall the shades behave similarly with the exception of 32 Berry-Licious which is sheerer in pigmentation and settled into lips lines from the sample card I got of it.

Wear:
Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick I get about 6-7 hours before fading starts to occur. They also wear down with dignity so I found no harsh fade edges as the faded from inside the lip outwards.

No here is a short comparison of the formula. Sephora is a way better formula, they made the packaging cheaper so that you are getting a better product at this price point. And there nothing wrong with the Almay matte formula but it wears off faster compared to these Sephora ones in both the Cream and Matte formulas has a bit more grip to the lips that give them their longevity and even opaqueness.

Verdict:
The Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick is still the bomb formula that I like to use on the daily so I splurged on some fun shades in this post. ;)
Sephora #LIPSTORIES lipsticks I've tried are a nice formula, they creamy but a little more anti-smudge than most lipstick in this price point... Looking at you drugstore lipsticks.... I did notice some of the tester shades in store in the cream finish are extra creamy/gloss so there are more than 3 finishes in this range. I say if you can test them out in store to get that right shades for you. There wasn't too many pink shades in the range I was interested and more nude, red, and berries. ;) There was 03 Oui! but if I'm going to wear a classic lipstick I want something brighter than my natural lips tone. lol 36 Spring Break was it for me.
