Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation SPF 15 in Fair Sand

Tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation SPF 15. Can we make the name any longer! ;)

I was excited to try this one out because of the appeal of a liquid foundation that can be full coverage was just to good to be true. I picked up the shade Fair after asking around about the colouration. I bought this at $49CAN but retails at $38US. Again with the price jump this is very much a high end foundation in Canada.

ProductMatte Finish, build-able coverage that was even able to mask my out my freckles.
I used a beauty blender to apply this in layers to build the coverage. All the redness in my face was completely masked out on my checks and chin. I used also a setting powder that has a slight blue/cool cast to help tone down the yellow and pull the finish product closer to my olive tone.

Colour: The fair shade is paler than MAC NC15 which is great but still a tad bit darker on me on my pale as heck skin. I'm hopping this orange cast become less noticeable with the summer sun. I don't really tan just freckle but a get a tiny bit more colour to the skin.

Wear: It clams to be 12 long wear but I got 16 hour in this during the winter but also when sweating due to too many layers I was wearing during that day. It didn't budge at all despite that.

Packaging: Solid bamboo cap with a squeeze tube bottle. The side of the tube has a clear panel so that you can see when your running love and the hole is small enough that not too much product comes out at a time.

Compare: I don't have anything to compare, as the product is cream to powder finish. But it feels like mineral makeup on the skin once dried.

Wearing the Fair shade built to full coverage. My face looks dewy not from oil but my own body heat. My face would be bright red in this photo without the foundation.
Verdict:
I REALLY love the finish of this foundation even on my dry skin, it dries down to a matte finish nicely. I which that Tarte would expand their colour range ( maybe add and ultra fair as well ) a bit more as there are only 8 shades and 6 of them are yellow tone. Also because I don't want to ruin the finish/longevity I go over this with a light cream powder to had highlights to my skin as this Fair shade needs to blend out being a tad too dark on me.
