Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting + Defining Volume I : Swatches & Review

Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting + Defining
The Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting + Defining retails for $59US and $71CAN for 0.04 oz The Sculpting Powder in Medium,  0.08 oz The Celestial Powder in Candlelight, 0.06 oz The Celestial Powder in Starlight, 3 x 0.06 oz Eyeshadows.

BUT the Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting + Defining Volume II is on for $64US and $78CAN which does contain more product with the addition of cream and larger highlight and contour pans but smaller eyeshadow pans. You get 0.17 oz The Celestial Powder in Candlelight , 0.04 oz The Celestial Powder in Starlight 0.16 oz The Creamy Glow in Candlelight, 0.16 oz The Sculpting Cream, 0.16 oz, The Candlelight Cream 0.14 oz The Sculpting Powder, 4 x 0.04 oz Eyeshadow.

The reason I mention this is the product are identical to the first Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Book (minus the creme products) so volume 2 is a much better deal product wise.

Product:
All these products weather their for the face or eye can be used on the whole face i found.
there are 3 matte powders and texture wise these contour powder were silky to work with on the skin but not buttery like some brands. Pigmentation was spot on as well.

The 3 shimmery shades blend out to a sheer wash nicely on the skin.  Brighten does have a slightly more shimmer finish which is good for spot highlighting rather than an all over glow.

Colour:
Sculpting Powder in Medium is a taupe brown with a subtle yellow undertone and a matte finish.
Celestial Powder in Candlelight
Celestial Powder in Starlight (eyeshadow size Accentuate) is a light peach/pink with a fine shimmer finish.
Brighten is a white with a pearl finish.
Cool Tan (Shade) is a mid-tone neutral brown with a matte finish.
Ruddy Earth (Define) is a deeper rosy brown with a matte finish.

Wear: A reasonable 10 hours for me. But they can and do last longer over foundation and setting spray.

Packaging:  Cardboard box with one page to house the mirror on thin inside.

Daylight swatches: Brighten, Cool Tan (Shade), & Ruddy Earth (Define).
Flash swatches: Brighten, Cool Tan (Shade), & Ruddy Earth (Define).
Daylight and Flash swatches: Sculpting Powder in Medium, heavy and buffed out.

Verdict:
I still feel like this was a good value consider the price of the individual Kevyn Aucoin products housed in this palette at the time. But I highly recommend picking up the  Kevyn Aucoin The Contour Book The Art of Sculpting + Defining Volume II instead simply because it's and upgraded version of this original palette in term of volume of product.
