The NARS Sheer Matte Foundation retails for $45US and $57CAN for 1oz of product, this product was Discontinued. The Sheer Glow Foundation retails for $45US and $57CAN for 1oz of product. The last one is the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation retails for $48US and $59CAN for 1oz of product.

I did get 2 samples for the Sheer Glow and All Day Luminous Weightless Foundations to really test them out because A. these foundations are expensive, and B. my skin was fickle.

Products:
NARS Sheer Matte formula has sheer to medium coverage and a satin/matte finish on the skin. This formula did catch on any dry patches on the skin and hairs on my face. I think this formula is only suitable for oily skin as it wasn't happy to settle on my dry combination skin at all. I found it applied very unevenly in any area that was dry as well.

I found it work best for blending with a sponge for this one. My fingers and brushes left strokes in the finish. >_>

NARS Sheer Glow is a medium build-able to coverage formula. This is the most forgiving foundation on dry to normal skin. It didn't break down in texture during the day and has a satin look on the skin., thus the name Sheer Glow because it's not overly dewy looking but natural.

I can work with this foundation with a brush, fingers and a blending sponge.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless is a medium to full coverage foundation. The texture is thin and light weight but does build up for fuller coverage. This formula clings to both dry patches on the skin and any drier texture of the skin. This was most noticeable on the nose and between the brows as my skin can be dryer in this area. The difference is these spots never look dry or patchy with other foundation. It also clings to any facial hairs as well which can be minimised with a downwards stroke on the face.

Most of this dryness can be corrected with a dimethicone based primer to create a smooth canvas to the skin. I still found however it look dry with or without a primer on my skin in terms of finish.

This foundation you also have to work faster with it, to make sure it doesn't set before blending. The people at NARS recommend working in one section of the face at a time. They also recommend using your fingers but I found a blending sponge worked as well.


Colour:
Sheer Matte in Siberia is a warm peach tone that leans fair nude.

Sheer Glow in Siberia is a pale yellow based nude.

All Day Luminous Weightless Foundations in Siberia is a pale fair yellow based nude.

Wear: I got 12 hours wear before I noticed fading without a primer or powder to set it with the Sheer Matte and Sheer Glow formulas.
The All Day Luminous Weightless Foundations last 17 hours before noticeable fading on its own on my dry-normal skin.

Packaging: A simple glass jar with lid. The All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation does come with a pump built into the packaging.

Winner:

NARS Sheer Glow for me and my dry-normal skin! Although it's not as full coverage as the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation but the finish is much more forgiving on my skin.

In terms of the old NARS Sheer Matte formula, the new All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is a much more improved formula in terms of coverage and texture. Although it hated my dry skin the coverage can be sheered out to the point it very undetectable if you're looking for a light correction on the skin as well.
