Kat Von D MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette : Swatches & Review

Kat Von D MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette in Thunderstruck, Flash, Doce, Synergy, & Raw Powder, Bone, Feather Suede, Oak, & Velvet. With Metal Crush Eyeshadows Doce, Synergy, & Raw Powder.
The Kat Von D MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette retails for $39US and $53CAN for 10 x 1.7g/0.06 oz eyeshadows product in each palette.

This palette contains the Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadows which retails for $21US and $25CAN for 2.8g / 0.10 oz of eyeshadows product. But the shadows are being discontinued which is a shame as they are some of my favourite eyeshadow formulas. I'm hoping they are just doing a rebranding for them as I hate to see them go!

Product:
The Matte shades in both of these palettes are powdery but smooth in texture with excellent pigmentation. They blend beautifully on both bare skin and a primer.

The Metallic/shimmer shades do pack a punch regarding pigmentation, and the texture is buttery which allows you to sheer out nicely as needed but also intense enough to last on the skin.

These are Kat's shimmer shades from previous palettes on steroids. The texture is incredibly creamy to apply and pigmentation is effortless, but you're still able to blend these down if you wanted too.

I picked up Thunderstruck once these first launched last year. And I bought it solely as a highlighter for both the eye and face. The quality of this shade allowed me to sheer it out to the point it doesn't look white at all, but a true opal glow on the skin.

The Metal Crush Eye Shadows texture is incredibly creamy to apply and pigmentation is effortless, but you're still able to blend these down if you wanted too. These feel identical to the full-size Metal Crush Eyeshadows I reviewed and it nice to see an expansion of the shades range.

These matte shades in this palette are smooth and creamy like the Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette. They blend beautifully are bae skin and over primer.

Colours:
Thunderstruck is a white with pink and light gold sheen and a smooth pearl finish.
Doce is a with a metallic finish.
Flash is a yellow gold with a metallic finish.

Synergy is a warm bronze with a metallic finish.
Raw Powder is a with a metallic finish.

Bone is an off-white cream with a matte finish.
Feather is a pale yellow with a matte finish. Not Sheer like the original.

Suede is a pale tan with a matte finish.
Oak is a warm brown with a matte finish.
Velvet is a merlot with a matte finish.  Not Sheer like the original.

Wear: Most I get close to 9 hours of wear without a base for the matte shades which is freaking unheard of for me with my hooded lids. The shimmer held up just as well but closer to 9 which is good!

Packaging: The palettes are a cardboard laminated box with a magnetic closure. They have a mirror in the lid.

Compare
Original Thunderstruck, Thrasher, Doce, & Raw Powder VS Thunderstruck, Flash, Doce, & Raw Powder.
Daylight swatches: Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck(OG), Flash, Thrasher(OG), Doce, Doce(OG)Raw Powder, & Raw Powder(OG).
Flash swatches: Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck(OG), Flash, Thrasher(OG), Doce, Doce(OG)Raw Powder, & Raw Powder(OG).
Thunderstruck and the original Thunderstruck almost are identical to original but is a touch less white.
Flash is much more yellow and bright compare to the tarnished gold Thrasher.
Doce seems smoother in texture compared to the original Doce but the shade is the same.
Raw Powder seems smoother in texture compared to the original Raw Powder but the shade is the same.
Verdict:
This palette is practically perfect in terms of the shadow quality. I'm not sure if this is the last we see of them Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadows but it's a great way to get ahold of their everyday colours from the range with some stellar matte shades to compliment them with improved shades from the Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette.
