Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in 100 Give Me a Cuddle, 610 Sun-Kissed, and 600 On Fire |
These were original launched back in October in the UK but only came to Canada this past 2 weeks in the permanent line. I picked these up from Rexall for $6.99CAN each.
The original launch had only 7 shade but I thin there is 12 in store now. I picked up 3 shades though would be flattering one me.
Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in 100 Give Me a Cuddle, 610 Sun-Kissed, and 600 On Fire |
Product: All the shades are gloss balms finish with semi-sheer pigmentation and consistent application. I found them VERY comfortable to wear on my dry winter lips also lasted a good long time as well. The scent a mildly sweet on these but not flavour on the lips.
Colour:
100 Give ME a Cuddle is a warm baby pink.
610 Sun-Kissed is an almost peach rose pink.
600 On Fire is a rose deep pink/red.
Wear: 6 hours wear total and about only 3 hour of the glossy look on the lips. They do stain the lips also after the 6 hour mark.
Packaging: Twist up crayon with no need to sharpen. Because these are chubby size it's best to take care while applying.
Compare: The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain was very sheer wash of colour in balm base compared to the Rimmel ones. The Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms are both pigment yet sheer like the Rimmel balms. The Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms are much more opaque and matte compared to the Rimmel Balms.
Also the Rimmel formula does not have that strong mint base that burns my lip with the 3 Revlon's formula but I do detect a very subtle mint note under the sugar scent. ;)
The CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm are a touch sheerer but nice to wear and just as consistent as the Rimmel ones.
Verdict
I love these shades especially 610 Sun-Kissed. What i like about the shade range in this Rimmel line is that have bright but wearable shade, brown 2 nudes, 3 really bright ones and some nude pinks that I have not seen in the rest of the drug stores lines either.
