Yaby Cosmetics World of Pearl Paint Palette: Swatches & Review

PURCHASED
Yaby Cosmetics World of Pearl Paint Palette
I've actual had this palette for 4 years now and it was the first one I got from the line. Before I had ordered a few single shadows and freedom system palette ( This was before Z-palettes hit the market ;) ) from Yaby when the brand launched. I've been sitting on those post for awhile as I wanted to get all the eyeshadows first before doing my reviews. It retailed for $149CAN at that time.

These shadows single pans retail for $4.85CAN each for 3.0 g / 0.11 US oz of product and $172CAN for the palettes holding 40 shadows at a price of $4.30CAN per pan. If however you are a makeup artist or go to IMATS there is a considerable discount on these. 40%-20% off.

But one other thing to consider is that these shadows look small but they are deep pans and compare to MAC's simple pan shadows retails at $12CAN for only 1.3 g / 0.04 US oz you actually getting double the amount of product for 1/3 the price.

Don't let the packaging fool you. ;)

EDIT: MAC JUST dropped their pan prices to $8CAN per pan so that's a little less than 1/2 the price for 2/5th less the product.

Product:
Yaby Cosmetics World of Pearl Paint shadows was the first gel made eyeshadow formula on the market before Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow. It has a similar texture to the Makeupgeek Foiled Eyeshadows but these don't feel as damp to the touch and dried to a powder finish on the skin.

These are all pigmented as heck. al little goes a long way and it always a buttery texture when blending them out. The finish is a pearl to frost/metallic depending on the shade and they last on the skin because of the gel based.

I've been using the shade pp080 First Snow as a highlighter on my skin because the mica is ao finely milled it gives my skin a nice glow.

Wear: For about 12+ hours before needing a touch-up on their own and 16+ with a primer.

Packaging:
This was the first freestyle palette I owned. The plastic compact as a steel polished mirror (not a glass one) that you can use as a mixing plate if you wanted to.

The palette as a foam insert that is sandwich between w white plastic sheets that you can remove easily to reset the palette back to the freestyle default.

The magnet used in this one are small pan size magnets that as earth magnets which mean they do really hold onto the pans and they are house underneath a plastic layer for easy cleaning of the palette.

This small palette weighs about the same as a large Z-palette.

the pans are magnetic and reusable by design so once you finish off a pan it's easy to clean and refill with another product if you wanted to.

VERDICT:
I love this palette and what prompted me to FINALLY finish this post was the fact that Natasha Denona another makeup artist put out her line and mega palettes and I was definitely noticing similar shades.

I however, have been getting soo much use time out of this palettes, that I knew I needed to get this one back out there. Worth EVERY penny.
