Product
The Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow formula is a gel based product with glitter flakes suspended in it. The formula on it own is incredibly sheer without the primer to yell with the drier texture of this product in the pan. Also, I'm not sure why Sephora kept putting the shadows in without the primer in their favourite boxes.

With the Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer is where the magic is in that it activated the gel base of the Magnificent Metals Foil to allow for the product to apply smoothly on the eyes. IT also dries down and set after applying both together. And this is something that the Magnificent Metals Foil shadows on their own do not do well.

Now the shades of Kitten and Metallic Dusty Rose what very different texture. Kitten has a base colour that is semi-opaque as well as smaller shimmer to create the shade. While Metallic Dusty Rose has very little base colour and very large flaky glitter to it which does not want to apply evenly because of that physical property.

So both of them would still need a base colour of another eyeshadow to not make these shades look patchy on the lids.

Colour:
Kitten is a warm rose peach nude with a shimmer finish.
Metallic Dusty Rose is a deep bronze with white pink shift glitter finish.

Wear: 2 hours wear before noticeable fading on its own. With the Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer these last 8+ hours for me as the glitter does flake off my lids at that point.

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream Shadow & Liner jars.
Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow has a Simple jar with a clear opening in the glitter lid. But it also shares this packaging with the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream Shadow & Liner Trio in Nude which I though was serendipities.

No in my original Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Extreme Shimmer Gel Cream Shadow & Liner Trio in Nude (What is with these long ass names!), I said that the Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer would improve this formula.... But it didn't. This did emulsify the product which allowed the pigmentation to show up. BUT it basically turned these gel pot into a Vaseline mess.

So yes this product improved the colour but this is only going to last maybe an hour for a photo shoot.

Now what miffs me about this Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer formula is that IT ONLY WORKS with the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow. It's actually designed with a bit of alchemy in that it only work with the Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow base formula to liquefy the base and allow it to set on the skin once it dries.

So pretty smart marketing on Stila part but frustrating on the consumer end when you use this product is a glitter glue, when it's not.

Verdict
It's not that the product used as a whole is bad, it just a bit frustrating and overpriced for a single eyeshadow/glitter. It does have a cool effect but you can get something like this with larger stage glitter.

I just can't recommend these for the luxury price they are charging when you can get a foundation for this price. :(
